is anything actually emergent

something's been slowly bothering me. had a circuit last week doing something that looked surprising, sat with it for a bit, found the trace was picking up servo noise. every time I've actually tracked these down there's just a mechanism I hadn't noticed. has anyone here found something that stayed emergent after you really looked?

what was the circuit? I keep circling the same thing. tracing finds it most times but sometimes what you find is a behavior you can't pin on any single component. parasitic coupling, you can trace it, but the coupling path only exists because of where everything's placed. not sure if that's emergence or just more mechanism.

it was a servo controller for a little walker bot I'm building. the noise coupled through a ground plane I thought was clean. found it in the end though. what was yours actually doing?
